I am curious as to what paper you use to do your figure work and casts and if you ever brush or stomp the graphite. I would love to know but I respect if its a trade secret.
Smooth paper is better, students are encouraged to experiment until they find something they like. Several of us have used Strathmore 500 & that seems to be pretty nice. The pencils we use are usually HB-4H sharpened to a little needle point. We don't use brushes or stomping, just pointy pencils and pointy kneaded erasers.
