New! Evening Still Life Class!

Tony Curanaj is teaching an 8-session, evening still life painting class in April and May.

Course Description: This class will concentrate on many of the fundamentals of good picture-making, from the technical to the conceptual. The class will have lectures & demonstration focusing on different topics as well as individual critiques while the student paints his or her own still life set-up. For those who wish to focus on the simple fundamentals of drawing and painting, there will be a set up consisting of geometric shapes and colors. Some of the principles addressed will be composition, accuracy in drawing, color and color theory, understanding form and modeling, edge control, glazing/scumbling techniques, lighting, materials and good studio practice.

Date: April 3 - May 24 (eight sessions)
Time: Tuesday/Thursday evenings, 6:30-9:30pm

  1. Mr. Curanaj should check out Otto Lange's work too! They both did paintings of the Atomic Disintegrator. Kind of a cool parallel.
