Top of the Morning, Top of the Falls!

The 2012 Hudson River Fellowship kicked off today in Jackson, New Hampshire with an early morning sketch at the famous Jackson Falls that run through the village. Two groups of painters arrived yesterday: the 2012 Hudson River Fellows and GCA workshop students enrolled in a 10-day course instructed by Erik Koeppel and Lauren Sansaricq. Later today the artists will attend a mid-day lecture given Andy McLane, an area resident and collector of 19th Century landscape paintings. Mr. McLane will show the artists paintings from his collection featuring local views that they can go find on their own. After the lunch, everyone will caravan to Pinkham Notch Base Camp in the White Mountain National Forest for an introduction to the area.

Thanks to Painter & Jackson resident Erik Koeppel and to Warren and Leslie Schomaker of the Jackson Historical Society for their generous hard work helping bring the Fellowship
to the White Mountains!
