Perspective Sundays!

Join the GCA's Perspective class, Sundays this Summer as they depict NYC's beautiful parks. Enroll in the entire summer (twelve sessions) or accompany the class any Sunday between June 8 and August 24.
Soldier's and Sailors Monument: Riverside Park
Learn the shortcuts of perspective in order to accurately render architecture within natural landscape. Class is designed for beginners, no experience necessary. NYC Parks offer a variety of classically inspired architecture from the triumphal arch at Grand Army Plaza to the heavily sculpted Beaux-Arts style Apellate Division Courthouse located at Madison Square Park.

Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza
Individual critiques, by GCA's in house perspectivist Anthony Baus, will be aimed at promoting attention to composition, light and shadow, and a varied line quality. Drawings will begin in pencil and then completed in pen and ink and wash. Consideration of master drawings will reveal techniques as how to depict the surrounding landscape in a brief and active manner.
