The fourteenth annual Figure in American Art Exhibition will open at the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery on Thursday 1/13. Included in this show are GCA instructors Travis Schlaht and Richard Piloco, and GCA alum Hyeseung Marriage-Song. Please note the gallery is now located on 57th St. See you there!

Self Portrait show at Ettinger Gallery

The Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in New York City has a show of self portraits up right now (the show runs from April 1 - May 2) Included in the show are GCA instructors Travis Schlaht, John Morra, and Richard Piloco. Also represented is GCA alum Hyeseung Marriage-Song.

Recent opening at Eleanor Ettinger Gallery

Here are some photos from a recent opening at the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in Soho. The show, The Figure in American Art 2010, will be on view from Jan 14 - Feb 28.


Richard Piloco and his three paintings, two depicting his 12-year-old daughter Phoebe, and one his 8-year-old son, Lucas. Richard teaches "The Painted Sketch" on Monday evenings at GCA.

Portrait Painting

In the core student program we have portrait painting on Monday afternoons with Camie Davis. The paintings below were started and finished in a 4 hour class period and we have a different model each week. On Monday evenings, a similar class is offered from 6:30-9:30 PM (The Painted Sketch, taught by Richard Piloco) that anyone can sign up for on a monthly basis.
