The Art of Painting - Scott Waddell's New Tutorial Video

"The Art of Painting: An In-Depth Look at How an Artist Thinks and Sees" is Scott Waddell's most recent downloadable tutorial video, covering the creation of two drawings and several new oil paintings while describing techniques and strategies useful to artists of all skill levels. Scott is an instructor in the core program covering cast and figure work, as well as in the evening classes and summer workshops.

This tutorial covers the essential concepts necessary to create realistic figurative paintings, including topics such as perspective, anatomy, color, color-mixing and the interaction between light and form. The production values are very high and the the complexities of light and and visual depiction are broken down into a clear and lucid manner.

Thanksgiving Feast and Festivities

Our annual Thanksgiving potluck and limbo competition went splendidly this year - we had four packed tables of food and drink, with Cuban fare, appetizers, pies, beer, wine and much much more.

The limbo competition was tighter than ever before, with the pole reaching previously unknown depths.

Liz unequivocally won this year's limbo round, with Connor and Zoe coming in a respective second and third place.

Finally, we decided to round out the festivities with a little bit of group portrait sketching:

Until next year!
