"Examining the Russian Academic Tradition" Panel Discussion


The GCA will host "Examining the Russian Academic Tradition", a panel discussion focused on the methods and philosophy of Russian Academic art and the teachings of the Repin Academy in St. Petersburg. The panelists are:

James Sondow: A New Yorker by birth, Sondow traveled to the Repin Academy, becoming the first American to attend the sculpture program in 15 years. He studied at Repin for 5 years before returning to New York City, where he now resides.

Iliya Mirochnik: Born and raised in New York City, Iliya also sought out training at the Repin Academy, where he studied drawing and painting for 7 years, receiving his Masters in Fine Art. He now resides in New York City.

Jacob Collins: New York City artist and founder of Grand Central Academy
