end of the year student work, part 1

Yesterday was the last day of class for students in the core program before summer break and the workshop schedule which starts right away on Monday. Each student has submitted their 3 best pieces of the year for a student exhibition which is open to the public June 8-12. I'll be posting images of all the submitted work here on the blog, which will take several installments, so stay tuned!

redecorating

Over the weekend Chris, our amazing fix-everything-guy (and full time core student) organzied a crew to put up bulletin boards in every studio so we could hang up all our drawings and paintings. Today all kinds of great work was coming out of the closets and I took these photos to share on the blog. Now if you visit the school you'll be able to see a lot more student work on the walls.

Around the studio

Here's some more photos from around the studio last week. Also, for all you artists who spend all day with your ipods: here is a link where you can download an hour of free music to brighten your work day! This DJ set was put together for American Apparel stores by Luke Reynolds of Pictures And Sound & includes songs from M. Ward, Jenny Lewis, Fleet Foxes, Ratatat & M83.
